    Abstract: A method for producing an optical sheet is disclosed which enables to produce a thin optical sheet having a uniform thickness distribution with high thickness precision, good shaping performance and good transfer performance. An optical sheet produced by such a method is also disclosed. In this method, a resin (15) discharged from a die (11) is passed between a touch roll (12) and a forming roll (13) while being applied with a pressure, thereby being formed into an optical sheet. More specifically, the resin temperature discharged from the die (11) is set between 250°C and 290°C, and the forming rate is set within the range of 8-40 m/min. The air gap between the die (11) and the nipping position of the touch roll (12) and the forming roll (13) is set to be 110 mm or less. An elastic roll whose diametral deformation is not less than 0.01 % of the diameter when a linear pressure of 30 kg/cm is applied is used as the touch roll (12).
