Abstract: A mobile terminal having a wheel key is provided to increase the usable capacity of a battery of a mobile terminal by minimizing current consumption by making the mobile terminal enter a standby mode in case of recognizing the abnormal operation or hooked state of a wheel key. A wheel key(100) generates a key interrupt signal as rotating. After the wheel key(100) is starts rotating, a controller(200) checks whether the same signal is inputted for more than a certain time to check whether the wheel key normally operates or not. A switching unit(300) controls transferring of the key interrupt signal to the controller(200) according to the check result. When a different signal is generated according as the wheel key(100) is pressed within the certain time after rotation, the controller(200) determines that the wheel key(100) normally operates. When pressing of the wheel key(100) is not generated within the certain time so the same signal is continuously inputted, the controller(200) determines that the wheel key(100) erroneously operates.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for transmitting and receiving a short message of a wireless communication terminal by using an external computer is provided to conveniently and promptly transmit short messages by editing the short messages in an external computer having high processing and storing capabilities.
