Abstract: The present invention relates to a rotary motor using the principle of magnetostriction. The rotary motor using the principle of magnetostriction may comprise two or more transverse magnetism generation coils for generating magnetism; a longitudinal magnetism generation coil; a yoke functioning as a passage through which magnetism generated by the transverse magnetism generation coils and the longitudinal magnetism generation coil pass; a magnetostriction material to be twisted by a Wiedemann effect when transverse and longitudinal magnetism is generated and to be restored to its original state when the magnetism dissipates; a vibrator for delivering the torsion of the magnetostriction material to a rotor using torsional vibration; and the rotor which rotates in one direction when the torsional vibration is delivered from the vibrator and which stays in the previously rotated position by smooth impact mechanism when the magnetostriction material restores to its original state. The present invention generates a helical magnetic field around the magnetostriction material and the magnetostriction material is twisted by a Wiedemann effect when a current flows in the transverse magnetism generation coils and the longitudinal magnetism generation coil. Therefore, the rotary motor using the principle of magnetostriction according to the present invention improves rotation efficiency by simplifying a system and a control circuit for inducing the rotation using the magnetostriction material and reduces heat which may be caused by the rotation.
