Abstract: PURPOSE: A primer which specifically binds to Phytophthora capsici and a method for diagnosing phytophthola blight of Solanaceae or Cucurbitaceous plants using the same are provided to quickly and accurately detect phytophthola blight. CONSTITUTION: A method for diagnosing phytophthola blight of Solanaceae or Cucurbitaceous plants comprises: and a step of performing PCR of DNA isolated from Phytophthora capsici collected from crops or soil under the presence of a primer set for diagnosing phytophthola blight. The gene amplification is performed using a primer set of sequence numbers 1 and 2 which specifically reacts to phytophthora capsici. The diagnosis method further comprises a step of isolating DNA from crops or soil by lyophilization. A kit for diagnosing phytophthola blight of Solanaceae or Cucurbitaceous plants contain a primer set of sequence numbers 1 and 2 for diagnosing phytophthola blight.
