Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a gravure ink composition excellent in flowability, stability with time, printing aptitude, and gloss of printed matter. CONSTITUTION: This monoazo lake pigment composition is obtained by coupling a diazo component obtained by diazotizing an aromatic amine having a soluble group with a coupler component, followed by laking, or performing the coupling and laking at the same time. The laking reaction is performed in the presence of a water-soluble acrylic polymer in an amount of 0.1-40 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the coupler component. Alternatively, a water-soluble acrylic polymer in an amount of 0.1-30 pts.wt. is further added to 100 pts.wt. (solid component) of the aqueous slurry after the laking, to form a surface-treated pigment composition, or a powder of a water-soluble acrylic polymer in an amount of 0.1-30 pts.wt. is further added and mixed to 100 pts.wt. of the pigment obtained by filtering and drying the aqueous slurry after the laking, to form a pigment composition. The gravure ink comprises one of the pigment compositions and a gravure ink vehicle.

A thiazineindigo pigment dispersant is provided to improve the transparency of a coloring composition, and to impart low viscosity, low thixotropic property and excellent flowability and shelf stability to a coloring composition. A thiazineindigo pigment dispersant is represented by the following formula 1. In formula 1, each of R1 and R2 represents a group needed to form an aromatic, alicyclic or heterocyclic ring optionally having a substituent other than -(E)p- group; E is a basic group substituted on a carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring containing R1 and/or a carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring containing R2 and is represented by the following formula 3 or 4. In formulae 3 and 4, X represents -S-, -O-, -SO2-, -CO-, -SO2NR-, -NRSO2-, -CONR-, -CH2NRCOCH2NR- or -(CH2)mNH-, wherein each R represents H, a substituted or non-substituted C1-C20 alkyl, C2-C20 alkenyl or C6-C20 aryl, and m is an integer of 1-10; a is 0 or 1; Y represents a substituted or non-substituted C1-C20 alkylene, C2-C20 alkenylene, C6-C20 arylene or a heterocyclic ring containing N, O or S, or at least two of them are bonded directly to each other or by way of a linking group selected from -NR-, -O-, -SO2- and -CO-; b is 0 or 1; each of R3 and R4 is a substituted or non-substituted C1-C30 alkyl or C2-C30 alkenyl, or R3 and R4 together form a heterocyclic ring containing N, O or S; Z represents -CH2NR'COCH2NR'-, -CH2NR'COCH2NR'-G-, -NR'-, -NR'-G-CO-, -NR'-G-CONR'-, -NR'-G-SO2-, -NR'-G-SO2NR'-, -O-G-CO-, -O-G-CONR'-, -SO2-, -O-G-SO2- or -O-G-SO2NR'-, wherein each R' represents H, a substituted or non-substituted C1-C20 alkyl, C2-C20 alkenyl or C6-C20 aryl, and each G represents a substituted or non-substituted C1-C20 alkylene, C2-C20 alkenylene or C6-C20 arylene; c is 0 or 1; each of R5, R6, R7 and R8 independently represents H, a substituted or non-substituted C1-C20 alkyl, C2-C20 alkenyl or C6-C20 aryl; R9 represents H, a substituted or non-substituted C1-C20 alkyl or C2-C20 alkenyl; and p is an integer of 1-6.
