Abstract: A photosensitive black composition, and a color filter containing a black matrix formed by using the composition are provided to increase nontransparency and to improve the high precision of a black matrix. A photosensitive black composition comprises the carbon black having an average primary particle diameter of 15-25 nm, a specific surface area of 100-180 m^2/g and a DBP absorption value of 55 cm^3/100 g or less; a dispersant which is a phosphate-based dye dispersant or an acidic dispersant represented by the formula 1; a dye derivative which is a basic dye derivative represented by the formula 2 or 3; a photopolymerization initiator; and an ethylenically unsaturated compound, wherein R11 is a tetracarboxylic acid compound residue; R12 is a monoalcohol residue; R13 is a lactone residue; u is 2 or 3; v is an integer of 1-50; t is (4-u); Q is an organic dye residue; X is a direct bond, -CONH-Y2-, -SO2NH-Y2- or -CH2NHCOCH2NH-Y2-; Y2 is an alkylene group or an arylene group; and Y1 is -NH- or -O-.
