Abstract: A metallic separator for a fuel cell, and a fuel cell containing the metallic separator are provided to improve corrosion resistance even without surface coating, thereby enhancing contact resistance. A metallic separator for a fuel cell comprises austenite-based stainless steel containing molybdenum(Mo) and tungsten(W); and at least one selected from the group consisting of tantalum(Ta) and lanthanum(La). Preferably the amount of tantalum and lanthanum is 0.01-1.0 wt%, respectively. Preferably the amount of molybdenum and tungsten is 0.2-5 wt% and 0.01-15 wt%, respectively.

Abstract: A separator for the stainless steel and the fuel battery which this stainless steel is manufactured with this stainless steel is provided by increasing corrosion resistance using the new the alloy design concept. A stainless steel with a superior corrosion resistance and electric conductance contains austenite type containing the chrome(Cr) with 18~35 weight%, and ferrite-based or tungsten(W) of 4~12 weight% is included in the duplex group stainless steel. The corrosion resistance at the acid solution and electric conductance is excellent, additionally add the component showing the tungsten bronze phenomenon.
