    Abstract: A spotlight synthetic aperture radar system (SAR) based on a range migration algorithm (RMA) and an autofocus technology are not appropriate because a point spread function (PSF) of a scatterer is spread in a squint mode. Therefore, two-dimensional interpolation is necessary to indicate PSF blurring in a vertical direction for improving the resolution of a vertical direction and for removing a side lobe which is spatially converted. The present specification proposes an effective two-dimensional interpolation technology including two one-dimensional interpolation steps in a sequint mode RMA because the existing two-dimensional interpolation requests a long calculation time and generates big calculation errors. Referring to a simulation result using measured turbulence data attached to the present specification, you can know that the resolution of the vertical direction is remarkably improved. In addition, you can know that the PSF is successfully focused with the reduction of the calculation time.
