Abstract: The resilient support column comprises a pneumatic spring (30) which consists of a piston and cylinder and which can be fitted into and removed from the support column (22) by means of a sleeve holder (40) . This sleeve holder (40) is coupled to the column by a screw connection which allows the sleeve spring unit to be fitted quickly into the column (22) in a single work step. A screw adjustment is possible in the support column and the unit can be unscrewed when a replacement is required. A simple mechanical fastening member (58) holds the sleeve holder (40) secure during transport and/or assembling.
