Abstract:
A composition comprising the extract of Angelica gigas Nakai or coumarin based compounds isolated therefrom is provided to inhibit activity of CYP2A6 enzyme as a major enzyme causing lung cancer, so that the composition is useful for prevention of lung cancer. A composition for prevention of lung cancer comprises the extract of Angelica gigas Nakai or coumarin based compounds isolated therefrom represented by the formula(1) or formula(2) wherein R1 is hydroxyl group or C2-C10 alkenylcarbonyloxy group; R2 and R3 are each independently hydrogen, C1-C5 alkyl group or C1-C5 alkyl group having hydroxyl group; R4 is hydrogen, C1-C5 alkoxy or C2-C5 alkenyloxy group; n is 0 or 1; and R5 is linear or branched C2-C10 alkenyl group, wherein the coumarin based compounds include decursin represented by the formula(3), decursinol angelate represented by the formula(5), 7-dimethyl suberosine represented by the formula(6) or isoimperatorin represented by the formula(7).
