    Abstract: High temperature superconducting coil for high critical current density is produced by : (a)coil extrusion of the mixture powder of raw material powder and binder, (b)slow heating and unidirectional grain growth of the coil type superconductor for single crystallization at the temperature of over 1050deg.C of inner heating elements in double furnace, (c)sintering of the grain coarsened coil. The unidirectional grain growth equipment(10) includes an outer electric furnace(2), an inner heating element(4), a transfer device(6), and silver plates(8a, 8b). Mixed raw material powder for superconductor consists of Y2Ba2Cu3O7, BaCuO2, and CuO powder. Binder comprises of 67% ethanol, 15% glycerin, and 15% metslose. The optimum conditions of manufacturing are as follows : (1)mixing ratio of raw powders and binder is 10/3; (2)the temperature of inner heating elements in double furnace is over 1050deg.C; (3)rising velocity of the extruded coil(9) is 2mm/hr; (4)sintering temperature of grain coarsened coil is 550deg.C in oxygen atmosphere; and (5)sintering time is 10hr.
