    Abstract: A carbon nanotube having surface modified by using dispersants and comonomers, a carbon nanotube/polymer complex combined by emulsion-polymerized polymer and a preparation method thereof are provided to improve mechanic and electronic properties of the carbon nanotube. The surface of a carbon nanotube is modified by comonomer having both polar amine group(-NH, -NH2, -NH3) and vinyl group and dispersants. The carbon nanotube/polymer complex is prepared by combining the surface-modified carbon nanotube with polymer from emulsion-polymerization of monomers having double bond to react with vinyl group of the comonomer in a solution containing the surface-modified carbon nanotube. The surface-modified carbon nanotube is manufactured by a method comprising steps of: preparing an aqueous solution having dispersants in distilled water; adding carbon nanotube into the aqueous solution and dispersing them; and adding comonomer having both polar amine group(-NH, -NH2, -NH3) and vinyl group into the solution to modify the surface of the carbon nanotube. The carbon nanotube/polymer complex is manufactured by a method comprising steps of: preparing an aqueous solution having dispersants in distilled water; adding carbon nanotube into the aqueous solution, followed by dispersing them; adding comonomer having both polar amine group(-NH, -NH2, -NH3) and vinyl group into the solution to modify the surface of the carbon nanotube; and adding monomers having double bond to react with vinyl group of the comonomer into the aqueous solution for emulsion-polymerization to combine the emulsion-polymerized polymer with the carbon nanotube.
