    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for enhancing learning and memory by suppressing the activity of NCX2(natrium calcium exchanger 2) protein is provided, thereby slowly removing Ca2+, secreting numerous neurotransmitters, inducing and maintaining LTP(long-term potentiation) and enhancing the activity of synapse. CONSTITUTION: The method for enhancing learning and memory by suppressing the activity of NCX2 protein comprises suppressing the activity of NCX2 protein, wherein the suppression of the NCX2 protein activity is achieved by inhibiting the expression of NCX2 gene; the inhibition of the NCX2 gene expression is achieved by gene targeting of NCX2 gene using antisense gene. A method for screening a material regulating learning and memory comprises the steps of: (1) transforming a host cell with a vector containing NCX2 structure gene and reporter gene to prepare a transformant; (2) co-culturing the transformant with a sample to be screened; and (3) measuring the expression of the reporter gene.
