Abstract: A hangover reducing composition containing Echinosophora koreensis extract as an active ingredient is provided to be used as a hangover reducing agent by increasing the activity of alcohol dehydrogenase and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase. A hangover reducing composition contains 0.0001 to 50% by weight of Echinosophora koreensis extract and additionally various flavorings or natural carbohydrates such as monosaccharide, disaccharide, polysaccharide and sugar alcohols. The Echinosophora koreensis extract is obtained by reflux-extracting Echinosophora koreensis with water, C1-3 lower alcohol or a mixed solvent thereof for 2 to 4hr. The mixed solvent contains water and lower alcohol in a weight ratio of 2:8.
