Abstract: The biodegradable fiber, a complex of chitin & cellulose (which is called a chitulose), is prepared by melting chitin and plant cellulose in a soluble solvent; and spining under moisture condition. The chitulose is useful for the prodn. of a biodegradable surgical suture, and a chitulose resin which is applicable to an artificial skin, an edible packing material for food.
