Abstract: A method for recognizing a hand shape using a database storing a plurality of hand shape depth images according to one embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: receiving the operation of a user; extracting the hand shape depth image of the user from the inputted operation; normalizing the size and depth of the extracted hand shape depth image to be matched with the size and depth of the hand shape depth image stored in the database; and detecting the hand shape depth image corresponding to the normalized hand shape depth image from the database. According to the embodiment of the present invention, the hand shape depth image are quickly and accurately detected through the configuration of the above steps.
