Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cardo-polybenzimidazole copolymer, a gas separation membrane and a manufacturing method thereof and, more particularly, to a gas separation membrane which is manufactured using a synthesized cardo-polybenzimidazole copolymer having a cardo group and an aromatic ether group introduced into a main chain of polybenzimidazole and has greatly improved oxygen permeability; and a manufacturing method thereof. The cardo-polybenzimidazole copolymer manufactured according to the present invention can provide a gas separation membrane which has improved solubility compared with existing polybenzimidazole copolymers, maintains thermal stability, has excellent mechanical properties to be able to be manufactured into a film shape, and has greatly improved gas permeability, specifically oxygen permeability.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a sulfonated polyethersulfone copolymer containing hydroxyl groups, a preparing method thereof, a polymer electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell and a membrane electrode comprising the same and more particularly, to a polymer electrolyte membrane having much higher ionic conductivity than existing sulfonated polymer electrolyte membranes by applying a sulfonated polyethersulfone electrolyte membrane containing hydroxyl groups and a membrane electrode assembly comprising the same to a fuel cell. The sulfonated polyethersulfone copolymer electrolyte membrane containing hydroxyl groups manufactured according to the present invention is expected to substitute for fluorinated polymer electrolyte membranes such as high-priced Nafion because the sulfonated polyethersulfone copolymer electrolyte membrane has much higher ionic conductivity under the conditions of various temperatures and pressures than existing sulfonated polymer electrolyte membranes. Moreover, the polymer electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell manufactured according to the present invention can be applied to a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell by being arranged between an anode and a cathode and the membrane electrode assembly can be applied to the key components of an electrolyte membrane fuel cell.
