Abstract: 본 발명은 무선 개인 지역망 (WPAN: Wireless Personal Area Networks) 에서 디바이스(Device, DEV)들이 피코넷(Piconet)에 등록을 하려고 할 때 새로 피코넷이 구성되어가는 환경에서 가입하는 경우와, 이미 피코넷이 구성되어 있는 환경에서 피코넷에 추가로 가입하는 두 가지 경우에서 다수의 디바이스가 피코넷에 효율적으로 등록될 수 있는 방법에 관한 것이다.
본 발명에 따르면 새로운 피코넷(Piconet)을 시작할 때, 새로 시작하는 피코넷의 네트워크 조정자 (Piconet Coordinator, PNC)와 피코넷에 등록되는 디바이스 (Device, DEV)의 개수를 사람이 수동적으로 정하는 방법을 사용하고, 이미 피코넷이 구성되어 통신을 하고 있는 상황에서 새로운 디바이스가 등록하려고 할 때, 등록 요청을 하는 디바이스의 개수를 네트워크 조정자가 예측하여 정하는 방법이 제시된다.

Abstract: An apparatus for coordinating interference among heterogeneous wireless communications is provided to make a WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network) overcome interference by making an integrated communication apparatus actively determine an interference situation and select an interference escape scheme in a situation that a WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) causes severe interference to the WPAN. An apparatus for coordinating interference among heterogeneous wireless communications comprises the first wireless communication module(210), the second wireless communication module(220), a coordinator(230), a system memory(250), a system bus(260) and a CPU(240). The first wireless communication module(210) conforms to the first communication standard. The second wireless communication module(220) conforms to the second communication standard which is different from the first communication standard. The coordinator(230) coordinates operation of the first and the second communication module(210,220), estimates a communication channel state, selects a scheme for escaping from interference between communication apparatuses and performs the selected scheme. The system memory(250) stores a program on an integrated communication apparatus. The system bus(260) is used as a path via which the first wireless communication module(210), the second wireless communication module(220) and the coordinator(230) transmit or receive information needed for interference escape operation. The CPU(240) controls the integrated communication apparatus via the system bus(260) and processes all the signals on the integrated communication apparatus.

Abstract: A method of registering devices in a wireless personal area network is provided to reduce power consumption of the network by quickly registering the plural devices to the piconet by preventing collision among devices during a registering process. A piconet includes a PNC(PicoNet Coordinator)(110) and at least one device(120). The PNC is selected from FFDs(Full Function Devices) or RFDs(Reduced Function Devices). The PNC schedules the data communication in the piconet and transmits a control signal to the devices. The devices communicate with the PNC or with each other. A superframe which is delivered among the devices includes an active period and an inactive period. The active period includes a beacon period, a contention access period, and a contention free period.
