Abstract: PURPOSE: A sun-positioning device and a method thereof are provided to sense sunlight with illumination sensors when the shadow of a heat collection housing unit is generated depending on changes in a position of the sun, and to remove the shadow, thereby grasping the position of the sun. CONSTITUTION: A sunlight sensing unit(10) including a first illumination sensor(11) and a second illumination sensor(12) senses sunlight. The first and second illumination sensors are arranged around a heat collection housing unit. An analog-digital converter(20) converts voltage output values of the first and second illumination sensors from analog signals into digital signals. A driving pulse generating unit(30) generates driving pulses of a motor depending on the voltage output values of the first and second illumination sensors input by the analog-digital converter. A motor driving unit(40) traces the sun by driving an azimuth motor and an altitude motor depending on the driving pulses of the motor.
