Abstract: A transmission line transformer formed in a semiconductor integrated circuit is provided to improve a coupling coefficient by facilitating the magnetic coupling between metal lines without increasing the number of transistors. A transmission line transformer formed in a semiconductor integrated circuit includes an inner first side transmission line(401a), an outer first side transmission line(401b), and a second side transmission line(402). The inner first side transmission line is wound once. The outer first side transmission line is installed to cover the inner first side transmission line. The second side transmission line is divided into a first transmission line(402a) and a second transmission line(402b). The first transmission line of the second side is wound in the inside of the inner first side transmission line. The second transmission line of the second side is coupled to the first transmission line after the second transmission line is wound in the outside of the outer first side transmission as much as the winding numbers of the first transmission line. A third transmission line is extended from a connection part of the first transmission line and the second transmission line. The third transmission line is wound once between the inner first side transmission line and the outer second side transmission line.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A variable transformer is provided to be used for a matching circuit of a power amplifier requiring a plurality of load resistors by controlling first side inductance and second side inductance or inductance of first and second sides. CONSTITUTION: A variable transformer includes a first side transmission line(1102) and a second side transmission line(1103). The first side transmission line connects a plurality of inductors, connects its one end to a first output end of a differential amplifier(1101) and the other end to a second output end of the differential amplifier. The second side transmission line connects a plurality of the inductors and is separated from the first side transmission line. The second side transmission line is formed with the same pattern as the first transmission line and forms the other end as an output end. The first side transmission line and the second side transmission line include switching devices(1106,1107) varying inductance of the inductor formed in the each transmission line.

Abstract: An inductor formed in a semiconductor integrated circuit is provided to increase an inductance value and a quality factor by winding metal lines in several strands. A first insulator layer(20) is formed on a semiconductor substrate(10), and a first lower metal line(300) and a second lower metal line are formed on the first insulator layer. A second insulator layer(30) is formed to cover the first and second lower metal lines. An upper metal line(301) is formed on the second insulator layer, and has a first metal line(310) of one strand and a second metal line(312) of two strands. A first terminal(Port1) and a second terminal are formed on the second insulator layer, and are connected to the first and second lower metal lines, respectively, via a first via contact(302) and a second via contact.
