    Abstract: A portable translator is provided to offer the most necessary function to users wanting translation by enable the user to carry and hold the portable device easily with a slim size, and offering real-time translation, recording, and repeated listening functions. A microphone(110) receives language to be translated in a voice signal. An ADC(Analog/Digital Converter)(114) converts the received voice signal into a digital voice signal. A language converting/controlling unit converts the digital voice signal into the translated language having the same meaning as the inputted language and performs control needed for operating a portable translator. A translated language storage unit stores the translated language. An earphone and a speaker(132,134) output the translated language stored in the translation language storage unit to the outside in voice. A player repeatedly plays the stored translated language to the earphone/speaker depending on user selection. A switch(140) discriminates a translation/storage process, a playback process, and a stop process. An operation display unit(116) displays an operation process discriminated by the switch.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to novel mutated ornithine decarboxylase protein having enhanced capability of producing purtrescine, and to use thereof. According to the present invention, the mutated ornithine decarboxylase protein has putrescine conversion activity 21 times greater than that of natural type protein. When introduced into a prior putrescine-producing strain, the mutated ornithine decarboxylase protein significantly increases putrescine producing activity of the strain. Therefore, the mutated ornithine decarboxylase protein is an alternative for a protein used in the prior chemical synthesis pathway, and is expected to be used for more efficient mass-production of putrescine. In the mutated ornithine decarboxylase protein, a 163rd isoleucine amino acid residue and a 165th glutamic acid from an N-terminal of ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) having an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID: 1 are mutated.
