Abstract: PURPOSE: A radioactive matter spread preventing system and a control method thereof are provided to prevent environment pollution caused by radioactivity by quickly preventing an external spread of radioactive matters. CONSTITUTION: A monitoring system of a radioactive matter spread preventing system monitors a nuclear facility emergency situation (S210). When the emergency situation is detected, a control unit controls a nuclear facility water curtain device for inserting a radioactive matter spread preventing solution to cover the outside of a nuclear facility building (S220). Radioactive matter leakage information is received and analyzed to determine a supply amount of the radioactive matter spread preventing solution (S230). A control unit delivers the radioactive matter spread preventing solution to the nuclear facility water curtain device through a water supply pipe (S240). The radioactive matter spread preventing solution is sprayed to the nuclear facility building through a nozzle on an inner surface of a protective film in order to remove leaked matters from air (S250). A radioactive matter collecting device collects the radioactive matters (S260).
