Abstract:
A scalable video coding encoder with an adaptive reference FGS(Fine Grain SNR Scalability) and FGS motion refinement method, the encoder, and a method for encoding and decoding in the same are provided to increase higher encoding efficiency of the encoder by determining a prediction signal of the FGS layer block according to scale element values of the FGS layer and determining the scale elements according to the residual signals of the FGS layer block. A scalable video coding encoder comprises a prediction signal determining part(1010), and a scale element determining part(1020). The prediction signal determining part determines a prediction signal of the FGS layer block according to the scale element value of the FGS layer when the interlayer prediction is not made among the foundation layer, the former layer, and the present layer. The scale element determining part determines the scale element used when predicting the FGS layer block corresponding to the FGS layer block on the basis of the residual signals of the FGS layer block.

PURPOSE: An intra predictive coding/decoding method and apparatus thereof are provided to perform parametric according to a prediction direction of an input image and to reduce computational complexity. CONSTITUTION: One or more pixel of a coding target block is determined as a prediction target pixel(S110). Compensating pixels are determined as prediction support pixels(S120). The compensating pixels are determined as prediction support pixels.

PURPOSE: A video encoding device and a method thereof are provided to separate a differential image block into non-border area and a border area base on border line within the differential image block, thereby increasing energy compaction. CONSTITUTION: A signal divider(131) divides a differential image block into the first area and the second area. Through DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform), a converting and encoding unit(133) performs conversion encoding of the first area. A quantization unit(135) quantize output of the conversion encoding unit in a frequency domain. A spatial area quantization unit(137) quantizes the second area in a spatial domain. By using the quantization unit and output of the space area quantization unit, an entropy encoding unit(180) performs entropy encoding.

PURPOSE: A video encoding/decoding device using an adaptive conversion encoding/decoding region based on characteristic of a differential signal and a method thereof are provided not to include a boundary region signal inside a converting and encoding block, thereby increasing energy compaction of a signal after converting and encoding. CONSTITUTION: A signal divider(131) divides a differential signal of an image block into a non boundary area signal and a boundary area signal. A converting and encoding unit(133) performs a DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) of the non boundary area signal. A quantization unit(135) quantizes the DCT-converted non-boundary area signal in a frequency domain. A spatial area quantization unit(137) quantizes the boundary area signal in a space area.
