Abstract: 무선 송신단은 소정 주파수의 캐리어 신호를 생성하는 주파수 발생기 및 전력 증폭기를 포함한다. 전력 증폭기는 일정한 크기의 전원전압을 인가받아 동작하고, 기저대역 신호의 전압 레벨에 기초하여 바이어스되며, 상기 캐리어 신호를 입력받고, 바이어스된 상태에 따라 상기 캐리어 신호를 증폭하여 무선 신호를 생성한다. 이때 전력 증폭기는 상기 기저대역 신호의 전압 레벨에 따라 바이어스 전압을 생성하는 바이어스부를 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 기저대역 신호는 이진(binary) 진폭 천이 변조(amplitude shift keying) 신호일 수 있다.

Abstract: A cascode power amplifier for amplitude modulation is provided to switch the power amplifier without using a DC-DC converter or a LDO rectifier. A frequency generator generates a carrier signal with a frequency. A power amplifier(31) is operated by receiving a power supply voltage, and is biased on the basis of the voltage level of a baseband signal, and receives the carrier signal, and generates a radio signal by amplifying the carrier signal according to the biased state. The power amplifier includes a bias part generating a bias voltage according to the voltage level of the baseband signal. The baseband signal is a binary amplitude shift keying signal.

Abstract: A power amplifier of a cascode structure for amplitude modulation is provided to prevent switching noise and to reduce the area of a chip and power consumption by modulating a carrier signal according to information of a baseband signal without using a mixer or a filter. A radio transmitter includes a frequency generator for generating a carrier signal of predetermined frequency and a power amplifier(31). The power amplifier is operated by receiving power voltage(VDD) of predetermined magnitude and biased on the basis of the voltage level of a baseband signal, receives a carrier signal and generates a radio signal(RF OUT) by amplifying the carrier signal according to the biased state. The power amplifier has a bias unit for generating bias voltage according to the voltage level of the baseband signal.
