Abstract: PURPOSE: A video on demand service providing apparatus in a digital cable broadcasting applying cloud computing environment, providing method thereof, and computer readable recording medium are provided to offer a VOD service in a digital cable broadcasting by applying cloud computing environment in the digital cable broadcasting. CONSTITUTION: A media cloud(140) is constituted by a virtualized server. A management server(130) manages video content information. When the overload of the media cloud is recognized, the management server increases the number of the virtualized server. A STB(Set Top Box)(110) receives the video content information from the management server. The STB requests the selected video content to the media cloud. The STB reproduces the received video content.

Abstract: 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경을 적용한 디지털 케이블 방송에서 개인 비디오 녹화기를 이용하여 개인화 방송 서비스를 할 수 있는 방법 및 시스템이 개시된다. 본 발명은 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경에 접속 가능한 셋탑박스(STB)로 개인 비디오 녹화기(PVR)를 이용하여 현재 방송을 실시간으로 시청할 수 있고, 개인 비디오 녹화기(PVR)을 이용하여 현재 방송을 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경에 존재하는 개인 서버에 저장함으로써 시간에 구애받지 않고 재 시청 가능하고, 단말기를 이용하여 유무선네트워크를 통해 개인 서버에 접근함으로써 유무선네트워크가 연결되어있는 장소라면 어디에서든지 저장된 프로그램에 대해 재 시청이 가능하고, 디지털 케이블 방송에 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경을 적용함으로써 기존의 디지털 케이블 방송에서 제공하지 못하던 개인화 방송 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
