Abstract: PURPOSE: A floating platform with an improved response amplitude operator (RAO) is provided to improve inertia, damping, and the distance between the center of gravity and the center of buoyancy. CONSTITUTION: A floating platform with an improved response amplitude operator comprises a buoyancy part (40), water ballast (50), and a load part (60). The buoyancy part forms the uppermost portion of a platform (105) and has a top portion having a first diameter and a bottom portion having a second diameter. The second diameter is larger than the first diameter. The water ballast is coupled to the bottom end of the buoyancy part and has a third diameter larger than the second diameter.
