Abstract: AT-DMB 계층 변조에 관한 것으로, AT-DMB 계층 변조 심볼 정규화 장치는 기본 계층 심볼을 생성하고, 향상 계층 심볼을 생성하며, 상기 향상 계층 심볼의 크기를 조절하고, 상기 기본 계층 심볼과의 관계에 기초하여 상기 향상 계층 심볼의 위치를 변화시킨다. AT-DMB 계층 변조 심볼 정규화 장치는 '상기 기본 계층 심볼'과 '상기 크기 및 위치가 변화된 향상 계층 심볼'을 합성하여 계층 변조 심볼을 생성하고, 계층 변조의 성상비를 기초로 설정된 정규화 파라미터를 이용하여 상기 계층 변조 심볼을 정규화한다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for normalizing advanced terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting layer-modulated symbol are provided to reduce errors in transmission power margin calculation of an AT-DMB transmitting end by improving the normalization in a layer-modulated B-mode and a layer-modulated Q-mode. CONSTITUTION: A base layer symbol generating unit(310) creates a base layer symbol. An enhancement layer symbol generating unit(320) creates an enhancement layer symbol. A processing unit(330) controls the size of the enhancement layer symbol. The processing unit diversifies the location of the enhancement layer symbol based on the relation with the base layer symbol. The layer-modulated symbol generating unit(340) produces the layer-modulated symbol by synthesizing the base layer symbol and the enhancement layer symbol. A layer-modulated symbol normalizing unit(350) normalizes the layer-modulated symbol using the fixed normalization parameter based on the constellation ratio of the layer modulation.
