Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing Zizyphi Fructus extract for drop of blood pressure is provided, which drops blood pressure in an animal body, thereby being used as a medicine for hypertension or an ingredient for health food. CONSTITUTION: A process for the preparation of Zizyphi Fructus extract for drop of blood pressure comprises the steps of: keeping Zizyphi Fructus soaked in water, and shaking for 18hrs after adding acetone; filtering with a filter sheet to remove solid part, concentrating under decompression, adding hexane, and separating water layer and hexane layer; separating hexane layer by same process for two more times; adding same quantity of ethyl acetate to the gained water layer to separate water layer and ethyl acetate layer; gathering ethyl acetate layer, concentrating under decompression, and drying to get yellowish brown material. The Zizyphi Fructus extract shows continuous blood pressure-dropping effect for 24hrs when administrated in the quantity of 0.3-1.0g/kg in mouse.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition is provided to be usefully used as preventing and treating agents of various cardiovascular diseases by reducing low density lipoprotein(LDL) cholesterol in blood by impeding the ACAT(acyl CoA:cholesterol-O-acyltransferase) activation in the body. CONSTITUTION: The pharmacological composition is for ACAT(acyl CoA:cholesterol-O-acyltransferase) impediment containing naringin or naringenin with a carrier pharmacologically allowable as activation element. The naringin or the naringenin can be extracted from citrus fruits or can be compounded by a compounding method. The naringin or naringenin impedes the ACAT activation, and reduces the cholesterol in blood of a mouse. And an ACAT activation impeding agent composition can be produced by mixing the naringin or naringenin as an effective element with the carrier allowable pharmacologically or as a food addition.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Composites containing jujube extract is provided to treat high blood pressure and to use for a health food by dropping blood pressure. CONSTITUTION: Jujubes are swollen in water, and acetone 1-1.5L and jujube 1kg are stirred at room temperature for 12-18 hours. The stirred liquid is filtered to get filtrate by using a filter. The filtrate is compressed and concentrated. Hexane 1-1.5L is added to the concentrate to separate into a water layer and a hexane layer. Ethyl acetate is added to the water layer containing active substances for separating into a water layer and an ethyl acetate layer. The collected ethyl acetate layer is concentrated and dried under a compressing condition.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Composites for inhibiting 3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA(HMG-CoA) reductase activity are provided to drop blood cholesterol for the prevention and the treatment of high cholesterol by containing vitamin C and orange peel extract, vitamin C, hesperidin and naringin. CONSTITUTION: Orange peels are washed with water and dried at room temperature in the shade. Water or 95% ethanol is added to the dried orange peels to extract active substances at 5-140deg.C. The extract is injected to a blood cholesterol patient as much as 1-5g/1kg/day. The extract is added to foods or beverages for to impeding 3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA(HMG-CoA) reductase activity, and drops blood cholesterol. The composites of the extract are varied by reaction time, reaction temperature, alcohol concentration, orange type and ripe rate.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An HMG-CoA reductase inhibiting composition containing vitamin C and orange peel extract is provided, which is useful in the prevention and treatment of hyperlipidemia by decreasing blood cholesterol level.
