Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a synthesis gas using a paper sludge as an alternative energy source is provided to obtain a synthesis gas containing a lot of hydrogen and carbon monoxide by steam reforming. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing the synthesis gas using the paper sludge comprises the steps of: charging a supported nickel based catalyst in a lower part of a tubular stainless former(1); charging a solid dry paper sludge in an upper part of the reformer; adding a water vapor thereto; supplying an argon to the reformer to prevent the reactants from burning; maintaining a reaction temperature of 500 to 800 deg.C; and progressing a catalytic gasification reaction for 1 hr. 30 min to 2 hr. 30 min.
