    Abstract: PURPOSE: An alkali weight loss finishing method of polyester fiber using ultrasonic wave is capable of increasing velocity of weight loss, reducing troubles of post-process and increasing productivity. The polyester fiber is characterized by increasing drapability, repulsive elasticity, bulkiness and soft feeling. CONSTITUTION: The alkali weight loss finishing method of the polyester fiber is as follows: preparing textile; applying ultrasonic wave having 15-30KHz of frequency on the textile with a magnetostrictive sonicator to dissolve or to elute; and then drying. The alkali weight loss finishing method is useful for producing superfine yarn by alkali dissolving/eluting polyester-based dissolution/elution type conjugate fiber, producing modified polyester fiber, producing polyester hollow fiber or dying polyester fiber.
