Abstract: PURPOSE: An electrostatic air filter and a method of manufacturing the same are provided to achieve a comfortable condition for a cabin area of motor vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An electrostatic air filter for adsorbing, collecting and removing dust, hazardous gas and offensive odor contained in the air, comprises three filter layers(6,7,8). The first filter layer is a pre-filter layer constituted by a long-fiber non-woven fabric of polyester base, and collects large particle dust contained in the air. The second filter layer is constituted by polypropylene micro fiber and collects fine particle dust. The third filter layer is constituted by a monofilament non-woven fabric and serves to firmly support the first and second filter layers.
