Abstract: PURPOSE: A gas hydrate generation-suppressing composition is provided to reduce a gas hydrate generation reaction rate by using only a small amount of the composition and to remarkably suppress gas hydrate generation. CONSTITUTION: A gas hydrate generation-suppressing composition comprises a compound indicated in chemical formula 1 and polyvinylcaprolactam indicated in chemical formula 2. In chemical formula 1, each of R1 and R2 is independently a linear or branched C1-7 alkyl, linear or branched C1-7 hydroxyalkyl, linear or branched C1-7 aminoalkyl, or linear or branched C1-7 alkoxy or hydroxy; and Y^- is OH^-, Cl^-, Br^-, I^-, CH3COO^-, NO3^-, or BF4^-. In chemical formula 2, n is an integer from 5-100.
