Abstract: PURPOSE: A heat generating device is provided to directly use high temperature combustion gas generated from catalytic combustion or to freely utilize hot water, hot wind or hot steam depending to a necessity by coupling catalytic combustion device to heat exchanger with a module. CONSTITUTION: A heat generating device comprises a fuel mixing unit for mixing the fuel with air, a mixed gas preheating unit for preheating the mixed gas to a temperature capable of doing catalytic combustion reaction, a catalytic combustion unit for reacting the mixed gas on a catalytic, a heat recovery unit for recovering heat from combustion gas, and a controller for controlling the former units. The fuel mixing unit includes an air fan(11), a fuel pipe(13), and a mixer(14) for mixing supplied air with fuel. The mixed gas preheating unit includes a heat exchanger(21), an ignitor(22) and a pilot burner(23). The catalytic combustion unit includes a catalytic layer(31) and a thermocouple(35). The heat recovery unit includes a recovery heat exchanger(41), a recovery fan(42), a combustion gas discharging passage(43), and an outlet(44) for hot wind, steam or hot water.
