    Abstract: A method for preparing an electrolyte membrane for a solid oxide fuel cell is provided to coat the outer surface of the electrolyte membrane for obtaining a denser and thinner electrolyte membrane, thereby enhancing the performance of a fuel cell. A method for preparing an electrolyte membrane comprises the steps of pseudo-sintering a compression molded tube-type fuel electrode support; forming vacuum inside the pseudo-sintered tube-type fuel electrode support; and dipping the fuel electrode support having internal vacuum in a slurry of a concentration of 1-20 wt% and drawing it. Preferably the pseudo-sintering is carried out at a temperature of 1,000-1,300 deg.C; and the vacuum pressure is 110-200 Torr.
