Abstract: 본 발명은 펄스전원장치의 보호회로 및 그 보호방법에 대한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 스토리지 캐패시터 또는 반도체 스위치 스택부의 출력 전류를 감지하는 감지부; 상기 감지부의 출력 전류로부터 아크 전류를 감지하면 전압을 충전하고, 제1저항을 통해 기 설정된 시간 동안 충전된 전압을 방전하는 제1캐패시터; 상기 제1저항과 연결되고, 상기 아크 전류가 발생하면 비도통 상태에서 도통 상태로 전환되는 제1스위칭 수단; 및 상기 제1스위칭 수단의 도통 상태에서 고전압 충전기의 제어회로에 인가되어 출력 전압을 결정하는 기준전압 또는 상기 반도체 스위치 스택부의 제어회로에 인가되어 펄스 주파수를 결정하는 기준전압이 분배되어 걸리도록 상기 제1스위칭 수단과 연결되는 제2저항;을 포함하여 구성됨으로써, 아크 전류 발생시 펄스전원장치의 작동을 멈추지 않고도 내부 소자들을 보호할 수 있고, 캐패시터에서 전압을 충전 및 방전함에 따라 별도의 사용자 조작이 없이도 자동으로 보호회로가 작동하게 되는 장점이 있다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A protection circuit for a pulse power generator and a protection method thereof are provided to protect internal elements of a pulse power generator when arc current is generated, and make it for the pulse power generator to operate the same as before the arc current is generated after a certain time. CONSTITUTION: A protection circuit for a pulse power generator(100) comprises a detection unit(210) to detect output current of a storage capacitor or a semiconductor switch stack unit; a first capacitor(230) to be charged with voltage and discharge the charged voltage for a predetermined time set by a first resistance(220); a first switching unit(240) connected to the first resistance and turning on from a discontinuity state to a continuity state when arc current is generated; and a second resistance(250) connected to the first switching unit and a reference voltage to determine output voltage of a high voltage charger, and applied to a control circuit of the high voltage charger or to a control circuit of the semiconductor switch stack unit so that the reference voltage to determine a pulse frequency is distributed by the second resistance.
