    Abstract: PURPOSE: A solid oxide fuel cell and solid oxide electrolysis cell are provided to improve cell performance while maintaining Ni-YSZ fuel(hydrgeon)electrode in an SOFC mode and SOEC mode. CONSTITUTION: A solid oxide fuel cell and solid oxide electrolysis cell comprises fuel(hydrogen) electrode layer(100) impregnated by one or more impregnation liquid which includes one or more impregnation components selected from Gd oxide, Gd-doped ceria, Gd salt, Sm oxide, Sm-doped ceria, Sm salt, ceria, and ceria salt; electrolyte layer(110) which is formed on the fuel(hydrogen) electrode layer; and an air(oxygen)electrode layer(120) formed in the upper part of the electrolyte layer. The fuel(hydrogen)electrode layer comprises nickel and zirconia.
