Abstract: 본 발명은 핸드오프 프로토콜 기능을 수행하기 위한 이동국 시뮬레이터 장치, 이를 이용한 핸드오프 시험 장치 및 그 운용 방법에 관한 것이다.
본 발명은 단말기가 없는 CDMA 이동 통신 시스템의 시험 환경에서 기지국간의 핸드오프 관련 무선 프로토콜 기능을 검증하고, 시험 과정 및 결과등에 대한 분석 자료를 시험자에게 제공함으로써, 효과적인 핸드오프 호 시험을 수행하는 시스템 및 그 운용 방법을 제공하기 위한 것이다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A mobile station simulator system for executing a handoff protocol function, an apparatus for testing handoffs using the same and a method for operating the same are provided to execute an effective handoff call test by verifying an inter base station handoff associated radio protocol function under the test environment of a CDMA mobile system and supplying analysis data for test procedures and test results to a tester. CONSTITUTION: A soft handoff test apparatus using a mobile station simulator system consists of two base stations(301,302), a base station controller(316), and mobile station simulators(309,312,313). Each base station(301,302) is composed of a transmit-receive function block(303,304), a call processing block(305,306), and a network access unit(307,308). Each transmit-receive function block(303,304) transmits and receives wireless protocol messages through a CDMA channel. Each call processing block(305,306) executes a handoff call processing function. Each network access unit(307,308) transmits call processing messages to the base station controller(316). The function blocks of each base station(301,302) are physically connected through each cell bus(314,315) one another. Also each mobile station simulator front end system(312,313) communicates with the function blocks of each base station(301,302) through each cell bus(314,315). The mobile station simulator rear end system(309) provides a series of analysis results associated with call tests to a test operator.
