Abstract: An optical crosstalk enhanced PLC type digital optical switch is provided to be driven by a low power and to secure an optical crosstalk more than 40dB. An optical crosstalk enhanced PLC type digital optical switch includes a symmetric type Y-branch switch and a radial type attenuator. The symmetric type Y-branch switch(3) branches an incident light into one of a Y-branch optical waveguide. The radial type attenuator(5A,5B) attenuates a light branched through the symmetric type Y-branch switch, and outputs the light to an output port. The radial type attenuator includes a straight light waveguide and a thermal optical heater. The straight light waveguide(2) attenuates the branched light when the thermal optical heater is operated. The thermal optical heater(1) is arranged in a central top part of the straight light waveguide.

Abstract: The method manages the same data duplex in the disk memory region not to affect disordering or losing some data so that either of the duplex data provides high availability.
