    Abstract: PURPOSE: A system and a method for the VR(Virtual Reality) rehabilitation based on a haptic interface device are provided to enhance an effect of a rehabilitation cure by presenting various stimuli to a patient through the VR, and use a rehabilitation cure service in a remote place conveniently and cheaply through the Internet. CONSTITUTION: A haptic interface(10) guides a rehabilitation motion by controlling an operation based on the VR contents and senses a range and a maximum pressure according to the motion of a user. A client system(20) displays a VR image by downloading the VR contents from a server(40), controls the operation of the haptic interface device according to the VR contents, and transmits the sensed user motion state data to the server. The server manages a rehabilitation cure state of each user by receiving the user motion state data from the client systems, and provides the proper VR contents according to the rehabilitation cure state of the user.
