Abstract: PURPOSE: A traffic generation apparatus and network quality measuring method using the same are provided to increase the accuracy of network quality measurement by using quality measuring packets including test patterns or quality measuring establishment information. CONSTITUTION: An initialization unit(120) initializes a traffic generation apparatus by using an initialization packet. The initialization packet includes an IP(Internet Protocol) header received by a wired network, synchronization information, or the establishment information of the traffic generation apparatus. A quality measurement unit(130) measures the quality of the wired network by using a quality measurement packet. The quality measurement packet includes quality establishment information received by the wired network or test patterns.

Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for switching a mode of network equipment is performed to reduce the power consumption of the network equipment. The embodiment of the present invention provides the method for switching the mode of the network equipment comprises the steps of determining whether a media access control (MAC) address exists; converting the mode to a standby mode during the set time if the MAC address does not exist; determining whether an arbitrary frame is received from a lownlink during the operation of the standby mode; and converting the mode to a normal mode if the arbitrary frame exists, and transmitting the arbitrary frame to an uplink corresponding to arbitrary MAC address included in the arbitrary frame.
