Abstract: The content addressable memory for simplifying the structure of circuit to minimize the size of a chip comprises a memory cell array (1), a read and write driving unit (2) connected to the bit line and it's complementary line of the array (1) and for writing and reading the desired data to and from the array, and checking the coincidence between a searching factor and the stored word, an input buffer and multiplexer (3) connected to the match line of the array (1) to precharging the array (1), a decoder (4) for driving a desired word line, an address encoder (5) for outputting an address value corresponding to the word line, and a data register (6) connected to the multiplexer (3) to store the searching factor.
