Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for managing an expert system capable of classifying elements and coding is provided to reduce the time for design modeling, to prevent the duplication of data, and to enable the standardization of design and process design to be possible by inputting a design specification into a computer. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of generating a design group code(12) matching the inputted design element from a previously constructed design group code generating knowledge database(17) by receiving the design constructing element for part figure from a user(11), generating a produce group code(13) matching the inputted design element from a produce group code generating knowledge database(18), generating a process design group code(14) from a process design group code generating knowledge database(19), generating a design part class(15) from a figure part classification algorithm knowledge database(1A), automatically generating a produce part class(16) from a produce part classification algorithm knowledge database(1B) and displaying the information for same or similar part design data through a part database(1C) to the user and suggesting the corresponding template of a design drawing type on a screen.
