본 발명은, 데이터 방송 서비스에서 생길 수 있는 다양한 서비스 형태에 맞춰 언제든지 수신장치의 소프트웨어를 업그레이드할 수 있는 디지털 방송 수신장치 및 그의 순방향 호환성 지원 방법과, 상기 방법을 실현시키기 위한 프로그램을 기록한 컴퓨터로 읽을 수 있는 기록매체를 제공하고자 함.
3. 발명의 해결방법의 요지
본 발명은, 데이터 방송 수신장치에 적용되는 순방향 호환성 지원 방법에 있어서, 다운로드 데이터를 판별하기 위해, 순방향 호환 처리부가 수신 방송스트림내의 다운로드 데이터 정보기술자 존재 유무를 감시하는 단계; 상기 순방향 호환 처리부가 상기 다운로드 데이터 정보기술자로부터 데이터 형식에 대한 식별정보를 확인하여, 다운로드 데이터의 종류 및 상태에 따라 다운로드 여부를 결정하는 단계; 및 상기 순방향 호환 처리부가 다운로드 결정된 업그레이드용 소프트웨어를 다운로드하여 다운로드한 소프트웨어의 종류에 따라 업그레이드하는 업그레이드 단계를 포함함.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for protecting constituent elements of a digital broadcasting program using an MPEG-4 system are provided to control illegal access to various contents to be provided in a digital broadcasting environment. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for protecting constituent elements of a digital broadcasting program includes a transport stream analyzer(100), a data generator(300), a multiplexer(500), and a controller(400). The transport stream analyzer analyzes a transport stream including the constituent elements to extract a corresponding program map table. The data generator generates an intellectual property management and protection descriptor for protecting the program constituent elements, an object descriptor for connecting the IPMP descriptor with a specific interval of the program constituent elements, and a new program map table that is connectable with the object descriptor. The multiplexer multiplexes a transport stream including a corrected program map table, the IPMP descriptor and object descriptor generated by the data generator. The controller controls the transport stream analyzer, data generator and multiplexer.

Abstract: Disclosed is a program recommendation system and method which receive PSIP/SI and programming information on digital broadcasting and provide a program recommendation service to viewers in an EPG application. The system receives personal information in order to set information of each viewer, confirms the received PSIP/SI information, and generates watching information through a viewer watching TV, in a predetermined format. In addition, the system inputs the generated watching information to a database, converts watching information of each viewer which is stored in the database input unit into divided input patterns using a fuzzy membership function to analyze the input patterns, and extracts information on a program with a high degree of preference from the analyzed result. Furthermore the system outputs preference program information of each viewer on a screen in order to recommend a program.
