Abstract: 본 발명은 전자 잉크의 제조 방법, 이에 의해 형성된 전자잉크 및 이를 포함하는 전기영동 디스플레이를 제공한다. 이 전자 잉크의 제조 방법은, 안료 입자를 전자잉크용 유전유체에 분산시키는 단계; 및 적어도 모노머와 개시제를 상기 유전유체에 첨가하여 상기 안료입자를 둘러싸는 고분자막을 형성하는 단계를 포함하며, 상기 고분자막으로 둘러싸이는 안료입자와 상기 안료입자가 분산된 상기 유전유체를 그대로 전자잉크로 사용할 수 있으므로, 제조 과정이 단순하다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for fabricating an electrophoretic ink is provided to enable use of pigment particles surrounded by a polymer film and dielectric fluid in which pigment particles are dispersed as electrophoretic ink. CONSTITUTION: A method for fabricating an electrophoretic ink comprises the steps of: dispersing pigment particles(14) to dielectric fluid(12) for the electrophoretic ink; and adding at least monomer and initiator to the dielectric fluid to form a polymer layer(16) that surrounds the pigment particles. The method further includes a step of adding a charge control agent and/or stabilizer' to the dielectric fluid.
