Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for controlling a resource reservation using a two-pass RSVP(Resource Reservation Protocol) in an SBM(Subnet Bandwidth Manager) network is provided to efficiently maintain QoS(Quality of Service) by supporting a PEB(Pre-Engaged Bandwidth) on the basis of the two-pass RSVP in an IEEE802 style network. CONSTITUTION: A transmission host(50) transmits a path message together with a traffic specification for indicating the upper and lower limit of a bandwidth, a delay time, and a jitter to a reception host(10) through a certain segment(410). The reception host(10) transmits a PEBR(PEB Reservation) message to the transmission host(50) according to path state information of the traffic specification(420a-420d). The transmission host(50) transmits a PEBR acknowledgement message to the reception host(10)(430). The reception host(10) transmits a reservation message to the transmission host(50) for lastly reserving resources(440a-440d).

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for a hand-off of a mobile IP using a multicast for a regional tunnel management is provided to perform a hand-off of a wireless terminal for supporting a mobile IP between foreign agencies of a visited network domain using a multicast. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal receives a connection signal through various base stations and performs a communication by selecting an optimum base station in accordance with an intensity of the signal(411). The mobile terminal stores information with respect to a foreign agent having the next hand-off possibility on condition that a position registration to a home agent and a regional registration to the foreign agent are completed(412). A multicast regional registration message is transmitted through a base station possessed in the foreign agent(413). In case of a nearby foreign agent, if a multicast regional request is received from the mobile terminal(414), the mobile terminal is registered in one's visitor list and the mode of the nearby foreign agent is converted into a nearby foreign agent mode(415). If the conversion has been successfully performed, a multicast regional registration approval message is transmitted to the mobile terminal(416), and the multicast regional registration message is transmitted to the upper foreign agent(417).
