Abstract: The present invention provides a fast rerouting method through Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS). The method performs fast rerouting through when a failure occurs on a link and node in an optical network having a plurality of nodes. In the fast rerouting method, current node of the optical network receives the path message for label request from a higher node thereof and establish the main LSP. Further, the current node calculates a detour path therefrom to a next but one node thereof so as to provide against a failure of the next node. Further, if it is checked that the Loss Of Light (LOL) occurs in the current node, the current node establishes the detour path to allow data to flow through the calculated detour path.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A fast re-route method through a GMPLS(Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching) function is provided to carry out a local repair process for a link restoration by using GMPLS signaling, routing, and LMP(Link Management Protocol) information, thereby realizing the link restoration. CONSTITUTION: If a node receives an LOL(Loss of Light) message(S601), the node extracts a port and a link number by referring to a link information table(S602). The node extracts label information(S603), and extracts an incoming port and a link number(S604). The node requests an OCMF to perform a test for confirming whether an LOL is generated in the incoming port(S605) and then receives a test result from the OCMF(S606). If the LOL is generated, the node writes a channel status message for informing an upper node of a failure(S608), and updates information on a link information table for the current node(S609). The written channel status message is transmitted to the upper node(S610).
