PURPOSE: An additional information inserting device and a method thereof in a broadcasting system are provided to maintain compatibility with existing system, thereby inserting additional information which is necessary for a system. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting signal transmitter(510) transmits a broadcasting signal. A data extraction unit(540) extracts a modulated signal of the broadcasting signal transmitting unit. An additional data configuration unit(530) extracts synchronization of the broadcasting signal from the extracted broadcasting signal. The additional data configuration unit modulates the additional information according to the extracted synchronization. A data composition unit(550) inserts generated additional data to the modulated broadcasting signal.

The sequence multiplex transceiving method for reducing the PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) is provided to obtain the high PAPR reduction efficiency in case a small amount of dummy sequence is inserted. The input entry sequence is successively inputted. The length information of set up one or more redundant bit is inputted in advance(S210). The length information of the redundant bit is the bit number of the redundant bit. The input entry sequence comprises the length information of the redundant bit. The input entry sequence is transformed to the input data sequence of the parallel configuration(S220). The half repair high speed inverse fourier input data sequence is produced by performing the XOR (Exclucive OR) computing on the transformed input data sequence and redundant bit (S230). The length of the computed redundant bit and length information of the set-up redundant bit are compared (S240). The half repair high speed inverse fourier input data sequence is computed by the half repair high speed inverse fourier(S250). The OFDM signal is generated by changing sequence to the serial type.

PURPOSE: A device for transmitting and receiving additional data in a digital broadcast system and a method thereof are provided to transmit and receive the additional data which guarantees excellent receiving performance in a low SNR(Signal-to-Noise Ratio) and multi-path environment. CONSTITUTION: An IF(Intermediate Frequency) broadcast signal generation unit(110) generates a broadcast signal of an IF band through FEC(Forward Error Correction) and modulation of input broadcast data. An IF additional signal generation unit(120) generates additional input data as an additional signal of the IF band by using DSSS(Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum). An RF(Radio Frequency) upward conversion unit(150) converts a combination signal of the additional signal and the broadcast signal, which is generated in a signal combination unit(140), into an RF band. A transmission unit(160) transmits the combination signal of the generated RF band. Abstract:
An amplitude and phase predistortion apparatus and a predistorting method thereof, and an OFDM transmission system using the same and a transmitting method thereof are provided to minimize the calculation complexity for the system and to reduce a PAPR(Peak-to-Average Power Ratio). An amplitude and phase predistortion apparatus includes a measuring unit(21), a calculating unit(22), and a distorting unit(23). The measuring unit measures the contribution between IFTT multi-carrier and an OFDM symbol made by combining the multi-carriers. The calculating unit calculates a signal size and a phase coefficient to be added to each carrier signal based on the measured contribution. The distorting unit distorts each constellation point with corresponding size and phase using the signal size and the phase coefficient.
