Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for protecting digital contents are provided to control and prevent copy for the purpose of super distribution of digital broadcasting contents. CONSTITUTION: A digital contents protecting apparatus includes a demodulator(1), a demultiplexer(2), a decoder(3), a key manager(4), an encryptor(5), a storage unit(6) and a decryptor(7). The demodulator receives a MPEG-2 digital broadcasting signal and demodulates the digital signal into a multi-channel MPEG-2 transport stream. The demultiplexer extracts a single channel transport stream from the multi-channel transport stream to transmit the single channel transport stream to the encryptor and receives a decrypted single channel transport stream transmitted from the decryptor to output an element stream. The decoder decodes the element stream to reproduce video and audio signals. The key manager has an encryption key and a decryption key. The encryptor encrypts the single channel transport stream output through the demodulator and the demultiplexer using the encryption key and stores the encrypted transport stream in the storage unit. The decryptor reads the encrypted transport stream from the storage unit and decrypts the read transport stream using the decryption key of the key manager.

3. 발명의 해결방법의 요지
본 발명은, 워터마크된 데이터를 입력받아 워터마크 데이터를 검출하기 위한 워터마크 검출 장치에 있어서, 상기 워터마크된 데이터를 워터마크를 검출할 스펙트럼 영역으로 변환하기 위한 전처리 수단; 상기 전처리 수단에서 스펙트럼 영역으로 변환된 데이터의 스펙트럼의 분산을 줄이기 위해 필터링을 수행하기 위한 검출 필터링 수단; 상기 검출 필터링 수단에서 필터링된 데이터의 스펙트럼과 외부로부터 입력받은 PN 수열 스펙트럼과의 교차 상관값을 구하기 위한 교차 상관 수단; 및 상기 교차 상관 수단에서 구한 교차 상관값을 이용하여 삽입된 워터마크 데이터를 검출하기 위한 워터마크 데이터 변환 수단을 포함한다.
