Abstract: PURPOSE: A method of real-time-hiding a transmission error generated in a condensed video bit stream is provided to improve error compensation capability and compensate for damaged video data in real time. CONSTITUTION: A method of real-time-hiding a transmission error generated in a condensed video bit stream comprises the steps of: deciding a searching window according to a moving characteristic of video information in the vicinity of a damaged macro block; selecting optimum movement vectors of a macro block and a detailed block after establishing an optimum macro block in the decided searching window; and compensating for the error of the damaged macro block by the optimum movement vector and matching a macro block boundary.
