Abstract: A cross layer based routing method in a wireless sensor network is provided to supply an algorithm which provides optimal and stable routing in an instable communication environment, thereby improving the entire network performance. A source node generating data grasps a location of a destination node(S310). An optimum relay node is selected by using location information of adjacent nodes at every hop so that data is transmitted from the source node to the destination node through relay nodes(S330). The data includes an identification number and coordinate of the source node, an identification number and coordinate of the source node, an identification number and coordinate of a target node, and a message identification number of the data.
